Dear ErUM Friends,
We are DIG-UM e.V., an association that emerged from the self-organization DIG-UM. We support and carry out selected projects and activities for and with DIG-UM and the ErUM-Data Community.
We were founded in early 2026 by 10 members who all share a passion for research on universe and matter (ErUM). If you’re also passionate about science and supporting the next generation of researchers, we’d love to welcome you!
Mission & Activities
What we do
Our purpose is to promote science and research in the field of digitization of research on universe and matter both conceptually and materially. We aim to serve as a bridge between the DIG-UM community and the general public and are particularly dedicated to supporting the research activities of early-career researchers who are driving forward digitization initiatives for major national and international research institutions studying universe and matter.

DIG-UM Award
In 2025, DIG-UM presented three awards to outstanding scientific achievements in the field of digitization within the ErUM sciences for the first time. Read the recap here.
